SMP Lab School of UNTAD

First time to visit our teaching school, SMP Lab school UNTAD Palu. We went to school at 7 and looked around and noticed some of the boys were washing themselves. I asked, and they told me they should clean themselves before they go to pray to meet their God. So, their class starts at 8. I was surprised with the beautiful culture of Indonesia where students have to greet the teachers kissing their right hands. I first felt embarrassed of it but later I felt the respect of being a teacher from students. we also have similar culture in Philippines but it is disappearing nowadays. How I wish Philippines is also like that. They have flag ceremony every Monday but since this Friday is Independence Day, they didn’t have flag ceremony today. I also knew that they have specific dress code for teachers each day. I like the rule that they have to wear their traditional clothes once a week to keep their culture even the time pass by. The relationship of the teacher and student are so friendly, and they feel comfortable approaching the teacher and I liked it.
